I. Mechanical Cutting

1. Sawing (Band Saw / Circular Saw)

Applicable Thickness: ≤100mm (higher efficiency for thin plates)

Advantages: Narrow kerf (approximately 1-3mm), minimal deformation, no heat-affected zone (HAZ)

Technical Points:

Use carbide or high-speed steel saw blades; adjust tooth density based on plate thickness (fine teeth for thin plates, coarse teeth for thick plates).

Cutting speed: 20-60m/min (lower speed for thick plates); feed rate: 0.1-0.3mm/tooth.

Apply cutting fluid for cooling and lubrication to reduce saw blade wear.

Typical Applications: Precision cutting of part blanks, small-batch production.

2. Shearing (Mechanical Shear / Hydraulic Shear)

Applicable Thickness: ≤25mm (depends on shear machine tonnage)

Advantages: Extremely high efficiency, low cost, no dust.

Technical Points:

Adjust blade gap to 5-8% of the plate thickness (excessive gap causes burrs).
