Adjustment of the Proportion of Hot Metal and Scrap Steel: Hot metal and scrap steel are the main raw materials for converter steel - making. The temperature of hot metal is relatively high, generally around 1200 - 1350℃, while the temperature of scrap steel is close to room temperature. By reasonably adjusting the charging proportion of hot metal and scrap steel, the heat of the raw materials entering the furnace can be initially controlled. For example, if it is necessary to increase the initial temperature of the molten steel, the proportion of hot metal can be appropriately increased; conversely, increasing the proportion of scrap steel will reduce the initial temperature.
Detection and Recording of Raw Material Temperatures: Before charging, accurately detect the temperatures of hot metal and scrap steel and record them. This helps to precisely calculate the heat input according to the actual temperature conditions and provides basic data for subsequent temperature control. For batches of hot metal or scrap steel with abnormal temperatures, it is necessary to analyze the reasons and take corresponding measures, such as heating the hot metal with too low a temperature.
Temperature Adjustment during the Blowing Process
Control of Oxygen Flow and Lance Position: During the blowing process, the oxidation reaction between oxygen and elements in the molten steel will generate heat. By adjusting the oxygen flow rate and the position of the oxygen lance, the intensity of the reaction can be controlled, thereby affecting heat generation. In the early stage of blowing, appropriately lowering the position of the oxygen lance and increasing the oxygen flow rate can accelerate the oxidation of elements such as silicon and manganese in the hot metal and quickly raise the temperature of the molten steel. However, in the later stage of blowing, especially when approaching the end - point, it is necessary to finely adjust the oxygen flow rate and lance position to avoid an excessively high temperature, because the heat generated by the carbon - oxygen reaction is more concentrated at this time.

When the blowing is approaching the end - point, insert the sub - lance into the molten steel to quickly and accurately obtain the temperature information of the molten steel. Based on the detection results of the sub - lance, adjust the blowing parameters in a timely manner, such as the oxygen flow rate in the final stage and whether coolants need to be added, to ensure that the molten steel reaches the predetermined end - point temperature.
