1.1221 Steel

1.1221 carbon steel is a type of European standard carbon steel, also known as C60E seamless steel pipe. Its chemical composition mainly consists of carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), sulfur (S), phosphorus (P), and so on. The carbon content is between 0.57-0.65%, the silicon content is between 0.17-0.37%, the manganese content is between 0.60-0.90%, and the sulfur and phosphorus content is both below 0.035%, with the remaining component being iron (Fe).

The tensile strength of 1.1221 carbon steel is between 620-800MPa, the yield strength is between 340-470MPa, and the fracture elongation rate is around 16-20%. Its primary application is for manufacturing high-load mechanical components and mechanical fittings, such as the crankshaft of motorcycles or bicycles, the pin shaft of mechanical parts, and forging, etc. 1.1221 carbon steel is mainly used for components that have strict requirements for strength, toughness, and hardness, such as forging and swaging.
