1.0596 Steel

1.0596 steel, also known as P355NL1 steel, is a low-temperature pressure vessel steel with a standard of EN 10028-3 in Europe. The chemical composition range includes carbon (C) ≤0.18%, silicon (Si) ≤0.50%, manganese (Mn) 1.10-1.70%, phosphorus (P) ≤0.025%, sulfur (S) ≤0.010%, copper (Cu) ≤0.30%, nickel (Ni) ≤0.50%, chromium (Cr) ≤0.30%, vanadium (V) ≤0.10%, and aluminum (Al) ≤0.020%.

The tensile strength of 1.0596 steel is 470-630 MPa, the yield strength is 355 MPa, and the elongation at break varies at different temperatures, generally not less than 22% below 20 degrees.

It is mainly used to manufacture low-temperature pressure vessels, such as liquefied gas storage tanks, compressors, and industrial furnaces. The states of 1.0596 steel include hot rolling, controlled rolling, and normalizing.
