S275N has a tensile strength range of 370-510 MPa, a yield strength of 275 MPa, and a minimum elongation at failure of 22%. This means that S275N has medium strength and good plasticity.
S275N can be used for construction and engineering structures, such as bridges, building frames, and industrial equipment. It is usually in a quenched and tempered state. The advantages of this steel include good strength and plasticity, making it suitable for applications that require heavy loads. However, its disadvantages are its relatively poor corrosion resistance and welding performance.
The most common forms of S275N include plates, structural steel sections, reinforcing bars, and round bars. Equivalent grades in other countries include the following:
