The processing technology of A36 shipbuilding alloy carbon hot rolled steel plate is complex and highly controlled, determining the plate's quality, performance, and suitability for shipbuilding.

The initial stage involves careful selection and preparation of raw materials like high-quality iron ore and alloying elements. Molten iron is produced in a blast furnace and refined in a steelmaking furnace for the desired composition.

The casting of molten steel into slabs or billets is critical, influencing the initial microstructure. After casting, reheating is done for hot rolling.

The hot rolling process is key, with slabs or billets passing through rolling mills to achieve the desired dimensions. The number of passes and reduction ratios are controlled for mechanical properties and grain structure. Temperature and rolling speed are important, affecting deformation, recrystallization, productivity, and surface quality.

After hot rolling, additional processing like heat treatment can enhance properties by relieving stresses and improving the grain structure. Surface treatment involves descaling and finishing for the desired roughness and appearance.
