Effect on the Adhesion of the Oxide Film: A flat and smooth surface helps to improve the adhesion between the oxide film and the alloy substrate. This is because the bonding between the oxide film and the substrate mainly relies on physical adsorption and chemical bonding. Good surface pretreatment can increase the contact area between them, enabling the oxide film to adhere to the substrate better. For example, on the surface of the alloy steel plate that has undergone fine grinding, the adhesion of the oxide film can be several times higher than that of the untreated surface. When subjected to external forces (such as friction, bending, etc.), the oxide film is less likely to fall off.

 

The Role of Chemical Conversion Films: Chemical conversion treatments (such as phosphating, chromating) form conversion films on the alloy surface, which have an important impact on the quality and performance of the oxide film. The conversion film can serve as the bottom layer for the growth of the oxide film. It has certain protective properties itself and can improve the bonding force between the oxide film and the substrate. Taking phosphating treatment as an example, the phosphating film is a porous phosphate crystal structure, which can adsorb more oxidizing substances and promote the growth of the oxide film during the oxidation process. The Influence of Thermal Oxidation Process
