Bottom Structure: In the bottom part of a ship, high-strength marine carbon steels (such as AH36, DH36, EH36 series) are widely used to construct key components like the keel and the outer bottom plating. The keel is the main longitudinal supporting structure of a ship and needs to withstand huge hydrostatic pressure and wave impact forces. The high yield strength of these steels (the minimum yield strength of AH36 is 355MPa) can ensure that the keel remains undeformed when bearing the weight of the ship and external water pressure. The outer bottom plating also faces the dual challenges of seawater corrosion and pressure. The good corrosion resistance and strength characteristics of high-strength carbon steels can effectively resist these factors and prevent cracks or damages on the bottom of the ship.
