Raw material stage
Strict screening of iron ore and scrap steel: Select high - quality iron ore and scrap steel with low impurity content and stable composition as raw materials for steelmaking. For example, the iron content in iron ore should be stably at a relatively high level (such as above 60% - 65%), and the content of harmful impurities such as sulfur and phosphorus should be strictly controlled within a low range (generally, the sulfur content should not exceed 0.05% and the phosphorus content should not exceed 0.04%). This can provide a stable foundation for the subsequent steelmaking process and ensure that the chemical composition of the steel meets the quality requirements of LR/DH40 shipbuilding plates.
Control the addition amount of alloy elements: According to the standard requirements of LR/DH40 shipbuilding plates, accurately control the addition amount of alloy elements such as manganese, silicon, nickel, and chromium. By using an advanced alloy batching system, ensure that the accuracy of each addition of alloy elements is within ±0.05%, so as to ensure the stability of the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the steel.
Production process stage
Optimize the steelmaking process:
Accurately control the temperature and blowing time of converter steelmaking: During the converter steelmaking process, control the temperature of molten steel within the range of 1600 - 1650 °C and the blowing time within about 15 - 20 minutes to ensure that the composition of the molten steel is uniform and pure.
Adopt secondary refining technology: Such as LF (ladle refining furnace) refining, further remove the inclusions in the molten steel to make the purity of the molten steel reach a higher level (the inclusion content is reduced to below 0.005%), thereby improving the quality stability of the steel.
Strictly control the rolling process:
Reasonably set the rolling temperature: During the hot rolling process, control the start rolling temperature within 1050 - 1150 °C and the finish rolling temperature within 850 - 900 °C to ensure that the steel has good plasticity and uniform deformation during the rolling process and avoid defects such as cracks.
Accurately control the rolling pressure and rolling speed: According to the thickness and width requirements of the shipbuilding plate, adjust the rolling pressure within a suitable range (such as 200 - 500 MPa) and the rolling speed within 1 - 5 meters per second to ensure the dimensional accuracy and mechanical property stability of the shipbuilding plate.

Quality inspection stage
Chemical composition detection: Use an advanced spectrometer to conduct chemical composition detection on each batch of steel to ensure that the chemical composition meets the standard requirements of LR/DH40 shipbuilding plates. The detection frequency can be set to at least 3 - 5 detections for each furnace of molten steel to ensure the accuracy and stability of the chemical composition.
Mechanical property testing:

The number of samples for each test shall not be less than 3 to ensure the reliability of the data.
Impact test: Conduct impact tests at different temperatures (such as normal temperature, - 20 °C, - 40 °C, etc.) to detect the impact toughness of the shipbuilding plate. The number of impact specimens at each temperature point shall not be less than 3 to ensure the quality stability of the shipbuilding plate under different environmental conditions.
