Now, turning to GL Ship Steel Plate EH36. In a particular quality inspection, the chemical composition analysis revealed a carbon content of 0.12%, within the limit of up to 0.18%. Manganese was present at 1.40%, within the range of 1.00 - 1.60%. Silicon was measured at 0.40%, again within the acceptable limit. The phosphorus and sulfur contents were 0.015% and 0.012% respectively, both meeting the stringent standards.

Mechanical property tests showed that the yield strength averaged at 385 MPa, exceeding the minimum of 355 MPa. The tensile strength averaged at 580 MPa, within the range of 510 - 690 MPa. The elongation was determined to be 22%, meeting the minimum requirement of 21%. Impact toughness tests at -40°C revealed an average impact energy of 50 J in the longitudinal direction and 40 J in the transverse direction, exceeding the standards of no less than 41 J and 27 J respectively.

In a CTOD test for GL Ship Steel Plate EH36, the base metal had a CTOD value of 0.60 mm, significantly higher than the minimum requirement of 0.4 mm. This indicates superior fracture toughness and reliability.

These actual cases and the associated data demonstrate the importance of rigorous quality inspection in ensuring that GL Ship Steel Plates FH36 and EH36 meet the high standards required for shipbuilding and other marine applications. Such inspections not only guarantee the quality and performance of the steel plates but also contribute to the safety and durability of the vessels constructed using them.
