Necessity of standard adjustment: With the increasingly strict environmental protection regulations on the emission limits of pollutants from ships, ships need to better prevent the loss of shipbuilding steel plates caused by seawater corrosion during the operation process. Because the corroded shipbuilding steel plates will not only shorten the service life of the ship, but also may increase the frequency of ship maintenance and component replacement due to structural damage, resulting in more waste and pollutant emissions.
Change of specific performance requirements: In order to meet the environmental protection requirements, the corrosion resistance performance standards of shipbuilding steel plates need to be improved. For example, for ships operating in some sea areas with higher environmental protection requirements, their shipbuilding steel plates may need to increase the corrosion resistance years from the original 10 - 15 years to 15 - 20 years.
