I. Not the Only Determining Factor

 

Tensile strength is only one of many factors affecting ship stability. The stability of a ship is also affected by other factors such as ship design, center of gravity position, cargo distribution, and ballast water management. Even if shipbuilding steel plates have very high tensile strength, if the ship's design is unreasonable or the cargo distribution is unbalanced, it may still lead to ship instability.
