Chemical composition:
Steel contains elements like carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, and other alloying elements in specific proportions. The chemical composition helps make the tubing strong and resistant to corrosion.

Performance:

• Strong enough for structural use.

It is more resistant to corrosion than carbon steel with or without copper. The tubing can be used bare (unpainted) in many applications when exposed to the atmosphere.

It can be welded, but a suitable procedure is needed.

ASTM A847 may not correspond directly with other tube grades in different countries. Tube grades can vary by country. Some countries have similar specifications for high-strength, low-alloy tubing with enhanced corrosion resistance.
