I. Material Selection and Pretreatment
Steel Selection
The main body uses 16-gauge cold-rolled steel (thickness ~1.5mm), featuring high strength and plasticity for flame cutting and welding. The safety ring and legs adopt 3/8-inch solid round steel to ensure structural stability (e.g., a 24-inch diameter fire pit bears ≥80 lbs overall).
Weather resistance treatment: Premium models use Q355NH Corten steel, which naturally forms an oxidized rust layer outdoors without additional painting, suitable for Florida's humid climate.
Sheet Metal Pretreatment
Cold-rolled steel plates are formed by laser cutting or CNC stamping to ensure dimensional accuracy (error ≤0.5mm) for components like the fire pit bowl and safety ring. Cutting edges are polished by a grinder to remove burrs and prevent scratches during use.



II. Main Body Molding Process
Fire Pit Bowl Processing
Stamping molding: The 24-inch diameter fire pit bowl is formed in one piece by a large stamping machine, with a depth of 12-15 inches. 4-6 ventilation holes (1cm diameter) are pre-set at the bottom to enhance combustion efficiency.
Flame cutting art: The bowl side uses CNC flame cutting technology to engrave Florida State University logos (e.g., Seminole head, FSU lettering). The cut width is 0.3-0.5mm, and the edges are hardened by high-temperature quenching to avoid deformation from long-term combustion.
Welding of Safety Ring and Legs
The safety ring (29-inch diameter) is welded to the fire pit bowl by argon arc welding with a weld height ≥2mm to ensure no cracking under load. 3-4 legs (5-8cm height) are fixed to the bottom by full welding process and inspected by magnetic particle testing to prevent incomplete welding.
