1. Material Characteristics of Q355GNH

Chemical Composition:
Contains alloying elements (Cu, P, Cr, Ni) that promote the formation of a dense, adherent rust layer (patina) on the surface, which inhibits further corrosion.

Typical composition (%): C ≤ 0.12, Si 0.25–0.75, Mn 0.20–1.00, P 0.07–0.15, Cu 0.25–0.55, Cr 0.30–1.25, Ni ≤ 0.65.

Mechanical Properties:

Yield strength ≥ 355 MPa, tensile strength 490–630 MPa, elongation ≥ 22%.

High ductility and impact resistance, suitable for load-bearing structures.

Corrosion Resistance:

4–8 times more corrosion-resistant than ordinary carbon steel in atmospheric environments.

Performs well in industrial pollution, coastal (salt mist), and humid climates.

2.1 Cutting

Methods:

Laser Cutting: Achieves high precision (tolerance ±0.1 mm) and smooth edges, ideal for intricate patterns or small-to-medium thicknesses (≤20 mm).

Plasma Cutting: Suitable for thicker plates (20–100 mm), faster but with slightly rougher edges. Requires post-processing (grinding) to remove slag.

Oxyfuel Cutting: Less common due to potential heat-affected zone (HAZ) oxidation, but usable for thick plates (>50 mm) in non-critical applications.
