30CrMo steel plate is a high-strength alloy structural steel, commonly used in machinery manufacturing, petrochemical industry, bridge engineering, and other fields. Due to its alloying elements such as chromium (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo), it has good hardenability, strength, and toughness. However, proper maintenance is still necessary during use and storage to prevent corrosion, damage, and maintain its mechanical properties. Here are the specific maintenance points:

I. Storage Environment Control

Moisture and Corrosion Prevention

The storage site must be dry and well-ventilated. Avoid outdoor storage or direct contact with the ground (use wooden pallets or rubber pads to isolate soil moisture).

For long-term storage, apply anti-rust oil (such as hard film anti-rust oil) on the surface of the steel plate or cover it with waterproof plastic film. Especially in high-humidity environments (relative humidity > 60%), regularly check the integrity of the anti-rust layer.

Avoid stacking with corrosive substances (such as acids, alkalis, salt solutions) or damp metals (such as untreated steel) to prevent electrochemical corrosion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

II. Surface Cleaning and Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

Regularly remove dust, oil, iron filings, and other debris from the steel plate surface. Use a dry cotton cloth or compressed air for 吹扫;if there is oil, wipe with a neutral detergent (such as soapy water), then rinse with clean water and dry.

Avoid using hard tools such as steel wool or sandpaper to directly polish the surface, to prevent scratching the protective layer or damaging the passivation film (the oxide film formed by chromium has a certain anti-rust effect).

Rust Treatment

If local slight rust (floating rust) is found, gently polish it with fine sandpaper (400 mesh or higher) until the metallic luster is exposed, then immediately apply anti-rust paint or anti-rust oil.

If rust is severe (pitting occurs), evaluate whether it affects the mechanical properties. If necessary, perform cutting to remove the rust layer, or repair through welding and heat treatment (operated by professionals).
