A387-11 is a chromium-molybdenum (Cr-Mo) alloy steel plate specified under the ASTM A387 standard, designed for high-temperature and pressure applications. As a grade within the A387 series, it is valued for its excellent creep resistance, oxidation resistance, and mechanical stability at elevated temperatures, making it a critical material in industries where components operate under extreme thermal and pressure conditions.

Chemical Composition & Key Properties:

Alloying Elements: The primary alloying elements are chromium (Cr, typically 1.00-1.50%) and molybdenum (Mo, 0.44-0.65%). Chromium enhances oxidation and corrosion resistance, while molybdenum improves high-temperature strength and creep resistance-critical for withstanding prolonged stress at high temperatures.

Mechanical Properties:

Tensile strength: Minimum 415 MPa

Yield strength: Minimum 205 MPa
