Characteristics and Applications of Alloy Nickel201 Plate Steel

I. Material Basic Information

Grade Definition: Nickel201 (UNS N02201) is a pure nickel alloy with nickel content ≥99.0% and extremely low carbon content (≤0.02%), belonging to industrial pure nickel plate.

II. Main Characteristics

Excellent Corrosion Resistance

Acid and Alkali Resistance: Highly tolerant to caustic alkalis (e.g., sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide), neutral salt solutions (e.g., sodium chloride), and organic acids (e.g., formic acid, acetic acid), with outstanding performance in reducing environments.

Chloride Ion Resistance: Less prone to pitting or stress corrosion cracking in chloride-containing solutions (e.g., seawater, brine), outperforming most stainless steels.

Oxidation Limitation: Poor corrosion resistance in strongly oxidizing acids (e.g., nitric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid), requiring avoidance of such environments.

Low-Temperature and High-Temperature Performance

Low-Temperature Toughness: Maintains good strength and toughness in extremely low-temperature environments like liquid helium (-269°C) without embrittlement, suitable for cryogenic equipment.
