Resistance to High-Temperature Oxidation and Corrosion:

 

In high-temperature oxidizing atmospheres, chromium forms a continuous Cr₂O₃ oxide film on the surface of the steel plate. This film effectively prevents further oxygen intrusion into the matrix, slows down the oxidation rate, and improves the steel plate's resistance to high-temperature oxidation.

For sulfide corrosion at high temperatures (e.g., in sulfur-containing gas or flue gas environments), chromium and molybdenum in P11 steel plates form stable sulfides, reducing damage to the matrix by corrosive media.
