National Standards:
GB/T 229 "Metallic Materials - Charpy Pendulum Impact Test Method": This standard specifies the method for Charpy notched impact tests of metallic materials. It is a basic standard for determining the impact resistance of metallic materials, applicable to various steels such as boiler steel plates, hot-rolled steel plates, and alloy steel plates. It can be used for impact toughness testing at room temperature and low temperatures.
GB 4159 "Metallic Materials - Low-Temperature Charpy Impact Test Method": Specifically aimed at Charpy impact tests of metallic materials at low temperatures. For boiler steel plates, alloy steel plates, etc., used in low-temperature environments, if low-temperature toughness needs to be determined, this standard is often followed for the test, which clarifies the test requirements and operating methods under low-temperature conditions.
Product Standards:
GB/T 713.3-2023 "Steel Plates and Strips for Pressure Equipment - Part 2: Low-Alloy Steels with Specified Low-Temperature Properties": Applicable to low-alloy steel plates for pressure equipment with a service temperature not lower than -70°C. It specifies the requirements for Charpy (V-notch) low-temperature impact tests of the steel plates.
GB/T 3274-2017 "Hot-Rolled Steel Plates and Strips for Carbon Structural Steel and Low-Alloy Structural Steel": Specifies the technical conditions for hot-rolled steel plates and strips of carbon structural steel and low-alloy structural steel. It includes impact energy testing items and stipulates the toughness indicators of the steel under low-temperature conditions to ensure that the steel can meet the needs of actual engineering.
In addition, some industry standards such as JB 4727 "Carbon Steel and Low-Alloy Steel Forgings for Low-Temperature Pressure Vessels" also put forward requirements for the temperature toughness testing of specific types of steel.
