50CrMo4

 

50CrMo4 steel is an alloy structural steel standardized by EN10083-1. It is mainly used in the automotive and mechanical engineering fields.

 

The specific chemical composition is as follows:

Carbon (C): 0.46-0.54%

Silicon (Si): maximum 0.40%

Manganese (Mn): 0.50-0.80%

Phosphorus (P): maximum 0.035%

Sulfur (S): maximum 0.04%

Chromium (Cr): 0.90-1.20%

Molybdenum (Mo): 0.15-0.30%

 

The tensile strength is 800-1000MPa, yield strength is 520-925MPa, and elongation is 10-20%.

 

50CrMo4 steel is commonly used to manufacture high-strength mechanical parts and vehicle components, such as gears, bearings, and connecting rods.

 

This steel can be in the annealed or quenched state.

 

Advantages:

1. High strength and wear resistance, suitable for high load and high-temperature environments;

2. Good hardenability and adjustability.

 

Disadvantages:

1. Higher alloy content may result in higher cost;

2. Lower elongation may limit its use in some applications.
