Chemical Composition: The chemical composition of SK7 steel includes carbon (C) ranging from 0.6-0.7%, silicon (Si) less than 0.35%, manganese (Mn) ranging from 0.2-0.3%, and the content of phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S) not exceeding 0.035%.

 

Properties: The tensile strength of SK7 steel ranges from 735-930 MPa, and the yield strength is 415 MPa. The fracture elongation is 12%.

 

Uses: SK7 steel is primarily used for manufacturing cutting tools, springs, and other components that require high hardness and wear resistance. It can also be used for making cold stamping dies and mechanical parts.

 

Condition: SK7 steel is usually supplied in an annealed state, which has relatively low hardness and good machinability.

 

Advantages: SK7 steel has good hardenability and wear resistance, allowing it to achieve high hardness and excellent cutting performance. It also has some elasticity and adjustability.

 

Disadvantages: SK7 steel has relatively poor toughness, making it prone to fractures and deformation. Suitable processing conditions should be employed while using SK7 steel.
