1.1191 Steel

 

1.1191 carbon steel, also known as C45E steel, is a low carbon steel material. Its carbon content range is 0.42-0.50%, with specific chemical composition of 0.42-0.50% carbon content, 0.60-0.90% manganese content, sulfur content not exceeding 0.035%, and phosphorus content not exceeding 0.035%.

 

The tensile strength of 1.1191 carbon steel is 700-850 MPa, the yield strength is 460 MPa, and the fracture elongation is 14%.

 

1.1191 carbon steel is mainly used to manufacture medium-sized and heavily loaded mechanical components, such as bearings, pins, gears, and shafts. Additionally, it is frequently used for manufacturing automotive and truck components, as well as tools for forging and cold forming.

 

It is available in hot-rolled, cold-drawn, and quenched states.

 

The advantages of 1.1191 carbon steel are high hardness, good machinability, and strong toughness. Additionally, it has good wear resistance and heat resistance.

 

The disadvantages are susceptibility to corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement, as well as a tendency to soften at high temperatures.
