HCT690T steel is a high-strength hot-rolled steel, with EN 10346:2015+AC:2016 as its execution standard. It is suitable for stamping and forming structural components.

 

The chemical composition range of this steel is as follows: Carbon (C) ≤ 0.24, Silicon (Si) ≤ 0.80, Manganese (Mn) ≤ 2.50, Phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.025, Sulfur (S) ≤ 0.005, Aluminum (Al) ≥ 0.015, Chromium (Cr) ≤ 0.50, Copper (Cu) ≤ 0.30, Molybdenum (Mo) ≤ 0.10, Nickel (Ni) ≤ 0.50, Titanium (Ti) ≤ 0.15, Niobium (Nb) ≤ 0.10.

 

The tensile strength of HCT690T steel ranges from 400 to 520MPa, and the yield strength is greater than or equal to 690MPa. The elongation at fracture is greater than 23%.

 

This steel is suitable for stamping and forming structural components, such as automotive doors, engine hoods and blades, and compressor tanks. Its typical state is hot-rolled.

 

The advantages of this steel include high strength, excellent tensile performance, good formability and weldability, as well as good quenching and tempering performance.

 

The disadvantage of this steel is that its deformation capacity is limited compared to other high-strength steels, and its strength and hardness are relatively low.

 

The most common form of HCT690T steel is hot-rolled steel plate.

 

In different countries, this steel has different grade designations. In China, the grade designation is QSTE690TM, which is equivalent to international standard S690QL; in the United States, the grade designation is ASTM A1011 HSLAS-F Grade 80; in Europe, the grade designation is EN 10346:2015+AC:2016 HCT690T.
