The steel grade S600MC complies with the standard EN 10149-2.

 

Specific chemical composition:

- Carbon (C) content: 0.12%

- Silicon (Si) content: 0.50%

- Manganese (Mn) content: 2.50%

- Phosphorus (P) content: 0.025%

- Sulfur (S) content: 0.015%

- Chromium (Cr) content: 0.50%

- Cadmium (Cd) content: <0.010%

- Copper (Cu) content: 0.15%

- Aluminum (Al) content: 0.20%

- Vanadium (V) content: 0.20%

 

Mechanical properties:

- Tensile strength: 650-820 MPa

- Yield strength: 600 MPa

- Elongation: 10%

- Bending radius: 0.5t (t is the thickness of the plate)

 

Uses:

S600MC steel is mainly used for manufacturing high-strength and lightweight structural components, such as vehicle structures and pipelines.

 

State:

Usually supplied in hot-rolled and cold-rolled states.

 

Advantages:

- High strength and lighter weight

- Good weldability and processability

 

Disadvantages:

- Not suitable for environments with high corrosion resistance requirements

 

Most common forms:

S600MC steel is typically supplied in the form of plates and coils.

 

Comparison to other national grades:

- For Chinese standards, it can be compared to Q620D steel.

- For American standards, it can be compared to ASTM A656 Grade 80 steel.

- For Japanese standards, it can be compared to JIS S600MC steel.
