40Mn2 steel is a medium-carbon low-alloy steel grade in China's GB/T 3077 standard, characterized by high strength, good toughness, and excellent hardenability. The "40" indicates a carbon content of ~0.40%, while "Mn2" signifies a manganese content of ~1.50–1.80%. It is widely used in mechanical manufacturing for parts requiring high load-bearing capacity and wear resistance, such as shafts, gears, and connecting rods.
