Description

S355NL is a hot rolled, medium tensile, low carbon manganese steel which is readily weldable and possess good impact resistance (also in sub-zero temperatures).

 

This material is commonly supplied in the untreated or normalized condition and is available in several variations (denoted by additional letters and/or digits) which offer slight modifications of chemical composition and mechanical properties.

 

Machinability of this material is similar to that of mild steel.

 

 

 

1. Impact Temperature

S355N: Steel plate with an impact test temperature of -20°C.

S355NL: Steel plate with an impact test temperature of -50°C.

S355ML: Steel plate with an impact test temperature of -50°C.

2. Application Fields

S355N: Mainly used in large ships, bridges, power station equipment, medium/high-pressure boilers, high-pressure vessels, railway vehicles, lifting machinery, mining machinery, and other large welded structural components.

S355NL: Commonly applied in mining machinery, chemical machinery, agricultural machinery, wind power projects, metallurgical machinery, construction machinery, road machinery, and large steel structures. In China, S355NL steel plates are mostly used for export trade or manufacturing export equipment.

S355ML: Widely used in metallurgical machinery equipment manufacturing and electromechanical equipment manufacturing. Also suitable for load-bearing parts of welded structures in low-temperature environments, such as bridges, sluices, storage tanks, and water supply tanks.
