Hot-rolled high strength steel is produced by rolling steel at temperatures above its recrystallization point (typically 1,000–1,300°C), resulting in improved formability and cost efficiency compared to cold-rolled variants. This process is widely used in structural, automotive, and industrial applications where high strength, ductility, and economic production are critical.

Manufacturing Process

Steel is heated to a plastic state, allowing large deformations without work hardening.

Post-rolling cooling rates can be controlled to optimize microstructure (e.g., ferrite-pearlite or bainite) for strength.

Mechanical Properties

Tensile Strength: 400–830 MPa.

Ductility: Elongation ≥ 15–20% (varies by grade).
