Basic Definition and Overview

 

A36 carbon hot-rolled ship steel is a relatively common type of steel. The "A" usually represents the quality grade of the steel, and the "36" indicates that its minimum yield strength is 36 ksi (approximately 248 MPa). It is produced through the hot-rolling process. The hot-rolling process involves rolling the steel at a temperature higher than its recrystallization temperature. This process can improve the properties of the steel and enhance production efficiency.

 

Welding Performance

 

The welding performance of A36 carbon hot-rolled ship steel is relatively good. It can be welded using various welding methods, such as manual arc welding and gas shielded welding. During the welding process, due to the characteristics of its chemical composition, especially the control of harmful elements such as sulfur and phosphorus, it is relatively easy to ensure the quality of the welded joint.
