Electric Furnace: Electric furnaces are also used in the production of mild steel with some high-quality requirements or special compositions. Electric furnaces can accurately control the temperature and composition inside the furnace and use the high temperature generated by electric energy to melt raw materials. It is especially suitable for processing raw materials such as scrap steel.
Refining Equipment: Such as ladle refining furnace (LF furnace), vacuum refining furnace (VD furnace or RH furnace), etc. These equipments are used to further remove impurities (such as sulfur, phosphorus, etc.) and gases (such as hydrogen, oxygen, etc.) in the molten steel, fine-tune the chemical composition of the molten steel, and improve the purity and quality of the molten steel.

Process:
Oxidation Process: In the steelmaking furnace, the oxidation process is carried out first. Elements such as carbon, silicon, and manganese in the molten iron are oxidized and removed to reduce the carbon content to the range of mild steel (generally less than 0.25%). This process requires precise control of the amount of oxygen blown and the blowing time to ensure the accuracy of the chemical composition.
Deoxidation and Alloying: After the oxidation process is completed, deoxidation treatment is needed to remove excess oxygen in the molten steel. Commonly used deoxidizers are aluminum, ferrosilicon, etc. Then, according to the composition requirements of mild steel, an appropriate amount of alloying elements (such as manganese, silicon, etc.) are added for alloying to adjust the chemical composition of the molten steel and improve the performance of the steel.
