Mechanical properties:
Yield strength: Generally not less than 34 ksi (about 235 MPa). However, when the steel plate thickness is greater than 1 inch (25.4 millimeters), the yield strength is 32,000 psi (about 225 MPa).
Tensile strength: It is between 58 - 75 ksi (about 400 - 517 MPa). This strength level can ensure that the steel plate can bear certain loads and stresses in the ship structure.
Elongation: It varies according to the thickness of the steel plate. Generally, it is not less than 22%. Good elongation enables the steel plate to have a certain deformation ability when subjected to external forces, can absorb energy, and improve the safety of the ship structure.
Size specifications:
The thickness is generally between 1/4 inch (6.35 millimeters) and 4 inches (101.6 millimeters).
The width is usually between 48 inches (1219.2 millimeters) and 120 inches (3048 millimeters).
