AH32, AH36, DH36, and CCS A, B, D, E are different grades of marine steel plates, each with their own characteristics and applications:

 

AH32 and AH36 Steel Plates

 

Chemical Composition: These steel plates have specific chemical compositions that are carefully controlled. They contain elements such as carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur, and phosphorus in certain proportions. For example, carbon provides strength to the steel, while manganese enhances its toughness. The relatively low sulfur and phosphorus contents ensure good weldability and ductility.

Mechanical Properties:

Strength: AH36 has a higher strength compared to AH32. The yield strength of AH36 is typically around 355 MPa, and the tensile strength is in the range of 490 - 620 MPa. AH32 has slightly lower strength values, but both offer sufficient strength for various marine applications.

 

 

DH36 Steel Plate

 

Enhanced Properties: DH36 is a high-strength marine steel plate that offers enhanced mechanical properties compared to the AH series. It has a higher yield strength and tensile strength, which makes it suitable for applications where greater strength is required. For instance, in the construction of large ships, offshore structures subjected to extreme loads, or in areas where high structural integrity is crucial.

Low Temperature Toughness: DH36 has excellent low-temperature toughness, which is important for operations in cold sea regions or in situations where the structure may be exposed to low temperatures. This property allows the steel plate to maintain its ductility and resistance to fracture even at low temperatures, ensuring the safety and reliability of the structure.

Welding and Fabrication: Similar to AH32 and AH36, DH36 is also weldable, but due to its higher strength, more careful welding procedures and the use of appropriate welding consumables may be required to achieve high-quality welded joints.

Grade Differences:

CCS A is a basic grade that meets the minimum requirements for general marine applications. It is suitable for less demanding structures and components where the requirements for strength and toughness are not extremely high.

CCS B has higher strength and better mechanical properties compared to CCS A. It is used in more demanding applications such as medium-sized ships and some marine engineering structures.

CCS D is a grade with enhanced low-temperature toughness. It is suitable for applications in cold sea regions or where the structure may be exposed to low-temperature environments.
