Chemical composition:

 

Carbon (C): The content is usually ≤0.20%. The control of carbon content has an important influence on the strength and welding performance of steel. A lower carbon content helps improve weldability.

Manganese (Mn): The content is between 0.75 - 1.35%. The manganese element can improve the strength and toughness of steel.

Phosphorus (P): ≤0.04%. Phosphorus is a harmful element, but within a certain range, it can improve the corrosion resistance of steel.

Sulfur (S): ≤0.05%. Sulfur will reduce the toughness and welding performance of steel, so the content needs to be strictly controlled.

Silicon (Si): It is in the range of 0.15 - 0.50%. Silicon can improve the strength and oxidation resistance of steel.

Copper (Cu): 0.20 - 0.40%. The copper element is one of the key elements to improve the atmospheric corrosion resistance of steel. It can form a dense oxide film on the steel surface to prevent further corrosion.

Chromium (Cr): 0.4 - 0.70%. The chromium element can enhance the corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of steel.

Nickel (Ni): ≤0.50%. Nickel can improve the toughness and corrosion resistance of steel.

Vanadium (V): 0.01 - 0.10%. The vanadium element can refine the grains of steel and improve the strength and toughness of steel.

 

Mechanical properties:

 

Yield strength: When the steel plate thickness is ≤100mm, the yield strength is ≥345MPa; when the thickness is 100 - 125mm, the yield strength is ≥315MPa; when the thickness is 125 - 200mm, the yield strength is ≥290MPa.

Tensile strength: When the thickness is ≤100mm, the tensile strength is ≥485MPa; when the thickness is 100 - 125mm, the tensile strength is ≥460MPa; when the thickness is 125 - 200mm, the tensile strength is ≥435MPa.

Elongation: Under different thicknesses, the elongation of a 50mm gauge length is ≥21%. The elongation of a 200mm gauge length also has corresponding requirements, but it is allowed to be 2% lower than the elongation value of a 50mm gauge length.
