Generally, the content of alloy elements (such as copper, chromium, nickel, etc.) in the electrode should be close to that of the steel itself. This can provide similar corrosion resistance and mechanical properties during the welding process. For example, an electrode such as E7018 - A1 can be selected. It is suitable for welding low - alloy steel with a certain degree of corrosion resistance and can provide good weld strength and toughness.
Welding Parameters: The welding current should be determined according to the diameter of the electrode and the thickness of the welded part. It contains an appropriate amount of alloy elements and can ensure good matching between the weld and the base metal. The setting of welding current and voltage is also crucial for welding quality. When using a welding wire with a diameter of 1.2 mm, the welding current can be between 180 - 250 A and the voltage between 22 - 28 V. The welding speed can be adjusted according to the actual situation, generally around 30 - 60 cm/min.
