The acceptance standards for CCS Ship Steel Plate FH40 typically encompass several key aspects, including mechanical properties, chemical composition, dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and non-destructive testing.

Mechanical properties are of paramount importance. The yield strength of CCS Ship Steel Plate FH40 is usually required to be no less than a certain specified value, such as 390 MPa. The tensile strength typically ranges from 510 MPa to 660 MPa. The elongation at break should meet a minimum percentage, often around 20%. Impact toughness at low temperatures, for instance, -40°C, is also a critical parameter. The impact energy absorption is typically expected to be at least a certain value, say 47 J in the longitudinal direction and 31 J in the transverse direction. These mechanical property requirements are based on extensive research and testing to ensure the steel plate can withstand the harsh conditions at sea and various mechanical loads.

Chemical composition is precisely controlled. The carbon content is typically limited to a specific range, such as 0.18% to 0.20%, to balance strength and ductility. Manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur contents are also strictly regulated. For example, the phosphorus content is usually restricted to no more than 0.025%, and the sulfur content to no more than 0.020%. The controlled chemical composition helps to achieve the desired mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.

Surface quality is closely inspected. The plate surface should be free from cracks, laminations, pits, and other defects. Any surface roughness should be within acceptable ranges to prevent stress concentrations and potential failure points.

Non-destructive testing methods, such as ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MT), are employed to detect internal and surface flaws. In UT, any discontinuities or inclusions within the plate that exceed specified sizes or intensities are considered unacceptable.
