Mechanical Properties of Hardox®400 Steel

Strength: Hardox®400 has excellent strength properties. Its yield strength is typically around 1000 MPa, and the tensile strength can reach up to 1250 - 1400 MPa. This high strength allows it to be used in applications where heavy loads and impact forces need to be withstood. For example, in the construction of heavy - duty dump truck bodies, the steel can bear the weight of large amounts of materials such as ores and gravel without deformation.

Toughness: In addition to strength, it also has good toughness. The impact toughness of Hardox®400 is measured in terms of Charpy V - notch impact energy. It can typically absorb a significant amount of energy before fracture, ensuring that the steel can resist sudden impact loads.
