Chemical Composition:

 

Carbon (C) content: ≤0.16%;

Silicon (Si) content: ≤0.50%;

Manganese (Mn) content: 0.90 - 1.60%;

Phosphorus (P) content: ≤0.025%;

Sulfur (S) content: ≤0.025%;

Other elements such as Aluminium (Al) content ≥0.015%, Niobium (Nb) content is between 0.02 - 0.05%, and Vanadium (V) content is between 0.05 - 0.10%.

 

Mechanical Properties:

 

Yield strength: ≥390MPa;

Tensile strength: 510 - 650MPa;

Elongation: ≥20%;

In the Charpy V - notch impact test, there are also corresponding requirements for the impact - absorption energy at - 60℃ (usually there are specific numerical standards to measure its low - temperature toughness).

 

Applications: It is mainly used in shipbuilding and marine engineering fields. As ships sail in the marine environment, the steel plates are required to have high strength, good welding performance, excellent low - temperature impact toughness and corrosion - resistance. KF40 Steel Plate just meets these requirements and is often used to manufacture hull structures, marine equipment, etc.
