Cathodic Protection Technology

 

Sacrificial Anode Method: A more active metal (such as zinc blocks or magnesium blocks) is connected to the ship steel plates as a sacrificial anode. In the seawater electrolyte environment, the active metals such as zinc or magnesium are preferentially corroded as anodes, and the ship steel plates are protected as cathodes. For example, sacrificial anodes are installed in parts such as the outer shell and ballast water tanks of a ship. These parts are in direct contact with seawater and are high - risk areas for corrosion. The sacrificial anodes are continuously consumed during the corrosion process, providing continuous cathodic protection for the ship steel plates and effectively slowing down the electrochemical corrosion of the steel plates.
