The production standards for LR Marine Steel Plate Grade B mainly include the following aspects:
Mechanical property requirements:
Yield strength: Not less than 235MPa. Yield strength is the stress value at which steel begins to produce plastic deformation and is an important indicator for measuring the strength of steel.
Tensile strength: Between 400 - 520MPa. Tensile strength is the maximum stress value that steel can withstand during the tensile process and reflects the ultimate bearing capacity of steel.
Elongation: Depending on different thicknesses and specifications, the elongation requirements will vary, but generally it is required to be within a certain range. For example, not less than 21% under a 200mm gauge length and not less than 24% under a 50mm gauge length.
Impact toughness: Conduct impact tests at a temperature of -20°C, and the impact energy should meet the requirements of relevant standards. Good impact toughness can ensure that steel still has good impact resistance in low-temperature environments and is suitable for ships sailing in cold marine waters.
Production process requirements:
Smelting: Adopt appropriate smelting processes to ensure the purity of molten steel and strictly control the content of impurity elements in steel.
Rolling: Rolling processes such as hot rolling, controlled rolling, and normalizing can be used to obtain good microstructure and mechanical properties. For steel plates with a thickness greater than 40mm, normalizing heat treatment is recommended.
Quality control: During the production process, strict quality control and inspection are required, including chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing, dimension measurement, and surface quality inspection to ensure that the quality of the steel plate meets the standard requirements.
