Placing the Sample in the Diffractometer: Place the prepared sample evenly on the sample stage, ensuring that the sample surface is flat and perpendicular to the incident X-ray beam to guarantee the accuracy of the diffraction data.

Starting the Scan: Start the X-ray diffractometer and scan according to the set parameters. During the scan, the diffractometer will automatically record the diffraction intensities at different angles and generate a diffraction pattern.

Peak Searching: Use professional XRD analysis software to perform peak searching on the collected diffraction pattern to determine the positions, intensities, and full width at half maximum (FWHM) of each diffraction peak. By comparing with known standard cards or databases, preliminarily identify the possible brittle phases.

Phase Identification: Based on the diffraction peak information obtained from the peak searching, combined with crystallographic knowledge and relevant standard substance diffraction data, such as the PDF cards of the International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD), identify the phases of the brittle phases, determining their specific crystal structures and chemical compositions.

Quantitative Analysis: If it is necessary to further determine the content of the brittle phases, various quantitative analysis methods can be adopted, such as the internal standard method, external standard method, K-value method, etc. These methods require the measurement of the diffraction peak intensities of the sample and the standard sample on the basis of known standard samples, and then calculate the content of the brittle phases in the sample by combining the corresponding calculation formulas.
