Chemical Composition

 

 

Functions of Alloy Elements: The addition of alloy elements can improve the performance of the steel plate. For example, manganese can increase the strength and toughness of steel; elements such as chromium and nickel are helpful to enhance the corrosion resistance of the steel plate; molybdenum can improve the strength, hardness and heat resistance of steel, enabling the NV E500 steel plate to maintain better performance under complex working conditions.

Mechanical Properties

 

Yield Strength: The minimum yield strength is 500MPa.

Tensile Strength: The tensile strength ranges from 610MPa to 770MPa.

Elongation: The minimum elongation is 16%.

Impact Energy: At - 40℃, the minimum impact energy is 33J. The impact energy requirements of steel plates with different thickness ranges are slightly different. For example, when the thickness is less than or equal to 50mm, both the transverse and longitudinal impact energies are 33J; when the thickness is between 50mm and 70mm, both the transverse and longitudinal impact energies are 50J; when the thickness is between 70mm and 150mm, both the transverse and longitudinal impact energies are also 50J.

Production Standards

 

NV E500 steel plate is produced according to the DNV (Det Norske Veritas) standard. This standard has strict regulations on the chemical composition, mechanical properties, production process, etc. of the steel plate to ensure that the quality and performance of the steel plate can meet the high requirements of offshore engineering, shipbuilding and other fields.

Delivery Condition

 

Steel plates with a strength grade reaching and including 500MPa should be supplied in a normalized, tempered or quenched and tempered state; steel plates with a strength grade higher than 500MPa should be delivered in a tempered or quenched and tempered state.
