Surface Treatment
Apply Anti-corrosion Coatings: Applying various anti-corrosion coatings, such as paints, coatings, and plastics, on the surface of alloy steel plates can isolate the steel plates from external corrosive media and play a protective role. For example, epoxy paint and polyurethane paint have good corrosion resistance and adhesion, which can effectively prevent the steel plates from being corroded by media such as the atmosphere and water. Polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene and other plastic coatings have relatively good chemical corrosion resistance and wear resistance and can be used in some specific corrosive environments.
Metal Plating: Using electroplating, hot-dip plating, chemical plating and other methods to plate a metal layer, such as zinc, aluminum, chromium, etc., on the surface of alloy steel plates can improve the corrosion resistance of the steel plates. For example, galvanized steel plates have good atmospheric corrosion resistance. The zinc layer will form a dense zinc oxide film in the air, which prevents oxygen and moisture from contacting the steel plate, thus playing a protective role. Aluminized steel plates have relatively good resistance to high-temperature oxidation and sulfide corrosion.
Improve the Service Environment

In high-temperature environments, cooling measures can be taken or high-temperature-resistant alloy steel plates can be selected.
Remove Harmful Components in Corrosive Media: If the corrosive media contains harmful components to alloy steel plates, such as chloride ions and sulfate ions, corresponding measures can be taken to remove these harmful components. For example, adding corrosion inhibitors to water can inhibit the corrosion effect of chloride ions in water on the steel plates. For acidic media containing sulfate ions, methods such as neutralization and precipitation can be used to remove sulfate ions.

Cathodic Protection: Cathodic protection is a method that reduces the corrosion rate by applying a cathodic current to the protected metal to make it cathodically polarized. There are two types of cathodic protection: the sacrificial anode method and the impressed current method. In the sacrificial anode method, a metal or alloy with a more negative electrode potential than the protected metal is connected to the protected metal to form a primary cell, so that the protected metal is protected as the cathode. In the impressed current method, a cathodic current is applied to the protected metal through an external power source to make it cathodically polarized, thereby preventing corrosion from occurring.
Anodic Protection: Anodic protection is to connect the protected metal to the positive pole of a direct current power source to make it anodically polarized and form a passive film on the metal surface, thereby improving the corrosion resistance of the metal. Anodic protection is applicable to metal materials with activation-passivation transition characteristics, such as stainless steel and titanium alloy.
