I. Introduction to AH32 Steel Plate

AH32 is a marine ship plate, mainly used for manufacturing the hull, deck, etc. of ocean-going, coastal and inland shipping vessels.

- C (Carbon): ≤ 0.18
- Si (Silicon): ≤ 0.50
- Mn (Manganese): 0.90 - 1.60
- P (Phosphorus): ≤ 0.035
- S (Sulfur): ≤ 0.035
- Als (Aluminum): ≥ 0.015
- Ti (Titanium): ≤ 0.02
- Cu (Copper): ≤ 0.35
- Cr (Chromium): ≤ 0.20
- Ni (Nickel): ≤ 0.40
- Mo (Molybdenum): ≤ 0.08

Usually, the carbon equivalent Ce needs to meet the following requirements: generally, Ce ≤ 0.40%; if the delivery condition is TMPC, when the thickness is ≤ 50mm, Ce ≤ 0.36%, and when the thickness is > 50 - 100mm, Ce ≤ 0.38% (Carbon equivalent Ceq% = (C + Mn) / 6 + (Cr + Mo + V) / 5 + (Ni + Cu) / 15).

4. Longitudinal impact energy Akv / J: The impact energy requirements under different test temperatures and steel plate thicknesses are as follows:
- At 0°C, when the thickness is ≤ 50mm, the longitudinal impact energy is ≥ 31J.
- At 0°C, when 50mm < thickness ≤ 70mm, the longitudinal impact energy is ≥ 38J.
- At 0°C, when 70mm < thickness ≤ 100mm, the longitudinal impact energy is ≥ 46J.

V. Delivery Status

The delivery status of AH32 steel plates includes the fine grain element category and the steel category of different thicknesses, specifically as follows:

- When the thickness is ≤ 12mm, A (arbitrary), N (normalizing), CR (controlled rolling), TM (TMPC, temperature-deformation controlled rolling) can be adopted.
- When the thickness is between 12.5 - 20mm, N (normalizing), CR (controlled rolling), TM (TMPC, temperature-deformation controlled rolling) can be adopted.
- When the thickness is between 20 - 25mm, N (normalizing), CR (controlled rolling), TM (TMPC, temperature-deformation controlled rolling) can be adopted.
- When the thickness is between 25 - 35mm, N (normalizing), CR (controlled rolling), TM (TMPC, temperature-deformation controlled rolling) can be adopted.
- When the thickness is between 35 - 50mm, N (normalizing), CR (controlled rolling), TM (TMPC, temperature-deformation controlled rolling) can be adopted.
- When the thickness is between 50 - 100mm, N (normalizing), CR (controlled rolling), TM (TMPC, temperature-deformation controlled rolling) can be adopted. Among them, the sampling quantity of CR (controlled rolling) is 25 tons.

VI. Characteristics

AH32 shipbuilding steel plates have good toughness, high strength, strong corrosion resistance, good welding performance and processing and forming performance. Its Mn/C ratio is relatively high and should usually be above 2.5.

VII. Classification Society Certification

AH32 steel plates have been certified by nine classification societies such as ABS of the United States, BV of France, LR of the United Kingdom, GL of Germany, DNV of Norway, RINA of Italy, NK of Japan, CCS of China, and KR of South Korea.

It should be noted that AH32 steel plates produced by different manufacturers may have some differences in specific composition and performance. In actual use, selection and inspection should be carried out according to relevant standards and specific requirements. At the same time, the performance of the steel plates may also be affected by factors such as the production process and heat treatment.
