I. Hot Processing Characteristics

Hot Processing Temperature Range

Heating Temperature: 1050–1150°C (optimal hot plasticity zone)

Final Forging/Rolling Temperature: ≥950°C (avoid dwelling in the 850–950°C sensitization range to prevent embrittlement caused by γ' phase precipitation)

Hot Deformation Resistance

High strength at elevated temperatures requires substantial pressure for processing (hydraulic presses or slow-speed forging equipment recommended).

Rapid cooling (air or water quenching) after hot processing to suppress the precipitation of harmful phases.

II. Cold Processing Characteristics

Cold Work Hardening Tendency

High work hardening rate (approximately twice that of austenitic stainless steel); intermediate annealing is necessary to control hardness.
