Heat Treatment and Precipitation Hardening

Solution Treatment:

Temperature: 1040–1080°C, followed by rapid cooling (water or air) to form a martensitic matrix.

Aging Treatment (Precipitation Hardening):Common aging conditions:

H950: 510°C for 4 hours, air-cooled → maximizes strength and hardness.

H1000: 540°C for 4 hours, air-cooled → balances strength and toughness.

Mechanism: Aluminum and molybdenum form fine precipitates (e.g., Ni₃Al, M₂X) in the martensitic matrix, achieving precipitation hardening.
