I. Definition and Classification of TC4

TC4 is a Chinese grade (GB/T 3620), corresponding to the international grade Ti-6Al-4V (ASTM F136 in the United States). It belongs to the α+β type titanium alloy. The designation "TC" stands for Titanium Alloy, and "4" is the classification number. This alloy strengthens the α phase with aluminum (Al) and stabilizes the β phase with vanadium (V), combining high strength, low density, and excellent corrosion resistance. It is one of the most widely used titanium alloys.
