46Cr2 steel is an alloy steel with the standard EN 10083-3. Its specific chemical composition includes:

- Carbon (C): 0.43-0.50%

- Silicon (Si): maximum 0.40%

- Manganese (Mn): 0.60-0.90%

- Phosphorus (P): maximum 0.025%

- Sulfur (S): maximum 0.035%

- Chromium (Cr): 0.40-0.60%

 

The tensile strength of 46Cr₂ steel is 800-1000 MPa, its yield strength is 600 MPa, and its elongation at break is 11-13%.

 

46Cr₂ steel is widely used to manufacture parts that require high strength and wear resistance, such as transmission gears, cycloidal gears, and sprockets.

 

46Cr₂ steel can be provided in a hot-rolled and heat-treated condition.
