AISI 5130 Steel

Excellent comprehensive mechanical properties: AISI 5130 steel has a tensile strength of at least 880 - 1030 MPa, a yield strength of at least 685 MPa, an elongation of at least 12%, a reduction in area of at least 45%, and a hardness of up to 207 HBW. These performance indicators show that it has high strength and a certain degree of toughness, capable of withstanding large loads and impacts.

Good processability: AISI 5130 steel has good cutting, welding and other processing properties. Its low carbon content helps increase cutting speed and reduce power consumption during processing. This makes it relatively easy to form and manufacture during the processing process, reducing processing costs and improving production efficiency.

Better corrosion resistance and heat resistance: Due to the presence of chromium, AISI 5130 steel has better corrosion resistance and heat resistance than some other medium carbon steels. This makes it suitable for applications in harsh environments.

Disadvantages:

Susceptibility to corrosion: Like most steels, AISI 5130 steel is also susceptible to corrosion, especially in harsh environments. Protective coatings or other corrosion-resistant measures may be required.

Relatively high cost: Compared to some other medium carbon steels, AISI 5130 steel is relatively expensive, which may limit its use in some applications.
