S50C steel is a medium carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.47-0.53%, belonging to the international standard S50C steel.

 

The specific chemical composition is as follows:

- Carbon (C) content: 0.47-0.53%

- Silicon (Si) content: 0.15-0.35%

- Manganese (Mn) content: 0.60-0.90%

- Sulfur (S) content: ≤0.030%

- Phosphorus (P) content: ≤0.035%

 

The tensile strength of S50C steel is approximately 490-630 MPa, with a yield strength of about 355 MPa and a fracture elongation of about 15-20%.

This steel can be in the form of hot rolled, cold rolled, and forged states.

 

S50C steel has a wide range of applications, such as manufacturing tools, molds, bearings, gears, and other mechanical parts. It can also be used to produce cold stamping dies, punching dies, cold forging dies, and cold heading dies. Its advantages include good toughness, plasticity, and weldability, making it suitable for medium loads and medium speed working environments. However, its disadvantages are susceptibility to plastic deformation and wear under high loads and high-speed conditions.

 

Common forms of S50C steel include round steel, square steel, flat steel, and plate, which can be customized and processed according to different requirements and applications.
