1.0145 steel is a low carbon steel material, whose execution standard is European standard EN 10216-2. The chemical composition range of this steel grade includes carbon (C) 0.16-0.20%, silicon (Si) ≤0.50%, manganese (Mn) 0.60-1.00%, phosphorus (P) ≤0.025%, and sulfur (S) ≤0.020%.
The tensile strength of 1.0145 steel ranges from 410 to 530 MPa, with a minimum yield strength of 265 MPa. The minimum percentage elongation requirement is 24% at 20°C.
This steel material is mainly used in the manufacture of pressure vessels, boilers, storage tanks, and equipment used in the chemical industry or petroleum and natural gas industries. Common states include hot rolling, cold drawing, and annealing.
The advantages of 1.0145 steel include good processability and weldability, as well as good toughness at low temperatures. However, its disadvantages are relatively low strength and heat resistance, which may cause plastic deformation at high temperatures.
Common forms of this steel material include steel pipes and steel plates. Different countries have different corresponding standards. For example, in China, 1.0145 steel can be replaced with 20R steel, while in the United States, it can be substituted with SA516 Gr70 steel.
